The Obstacle In Our Path

I received the following story in an email.

In ancient times, a king had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked arount it.

Many loudly blamed the king for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the stone out of the way.

Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded.

After the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the orad where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the king indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway.

The peasant learned what many us never understand.

Ever obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our condition.

What an incredible lesson! Everyone has obstacles in their path. What is important however is what you do when you come upon them. Do you walk around and let them sit in the middle of your road? If you remove the rock from the road, then your path to the future is clear and you can walk towards your goal with a clear path. Even if there are other obstacles along the way, you already know what happens when you remove them.

STAY BLESSED!

Don't Sweat It!

Daniel 3:21 goes into great detail about how Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were dressed when they were thrown into the fiery furnace. While we've all heard about the miraculous way their clothes were kept intact, sometimes we forget the fact that they didn't sweat it. Their mindset was, if the Lord delivers us it's all good, but even if He doesn't, it's all good.

After they were thrown in, they were walking in midst of the fire unhurt and unconcerned.

Why? Because they knew they were not alone in the midst of the fire.

If you are bound by life's difficulties, but fully clothes (Ephesians 6:10-18) and in the will of God, He will protect you in - not always from - the fiery furnace.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!

There is a chorus to a country song by Rodney Atkins that goes a little something like this:

"If you're going through hell, keep on going. Don't slow down, if you're scared don't show it. You might get out before the devil even knows you're there. When you're going through hell, keep on moving. Face that fire, walk right throught it. You might get out before the devil even knows you're there."

DON'T SWEAT IT!!!!
